Mystical Stranger

Author: Hannah
Rating: G
Summary: Peter's horoscope says that he will meet a mystical stranger - Micky's not so sure....

"Hey Mick?" Peter said, sat at the kitchen table with a newspaper spread out in front of him.

"What's up, Peter?" Micky replied.  Micky was lazing on the sofa with a book open on his lap.

"Do you believe in horoscopes?"

"Horoscopes?  Like Mystic Mildred?  Psychic Susie?  Why?"  Micky said.

"Well, according to mine, I'm gonna meet a mystical stranger who will sweep me off my feet."  Peter smiled.  "A mystical stranger."

Micky laughed.  "I don't think you should take too much notice of what it says, Pete.  Those things are a dime a dozen."

"What do you mean?" Peter asked, with a frown screwing up his face.

"Well, I mean how can they be right for everybody?  There's probably thousands of people in the city right now, who are sat reading the exact same thing as you - What are the chances of them ALL meeting a mythical stranger?"

"Mystical stranger" Peter corrected him.

"Whatever," Micky continued.  "The point is, the chances of that actually coming true must be like a million to one, Pete.  I wouldn't take it too seriously if I were you."

Peter smiled to himself.  "I don't care," he said defiantly.  "It says that I'm gonna meet a mystical stranger and I believe it.  You just wait and see."

Later that day, Peter and Davy were walking down the street when two girls across the street caught their eye.  Davy spoke first.  "'ere Pete, d'ya see them birds over there?"

"Birds?"  Peter repeated, confused.

"Ya know, chicks."  Still silence from Peter.  "Girls, Peter, girls".

"Oh, girls,"  Peter laughed.  "Well, why didn't you say so?"

"Anyway, Pete, they're over there and they're hot!"

"Yeah, they're beautiful," Peter said with a dreamy grin on his face.  "Especially the blonde"

"What?" Davy interrupted sharply "No, the brunette!"

Peter laughed.  "Hee, Hee , one each!"

Davy grinned at him and said, "Precisely what I had in mind, Pete."

"Huh?"  Peter frowned.  "What do you mean?"

"One for you, one for me," Davy explained.

"Uh, uh," Peter shook his head.  "I dunno, Davy".

"Ah, come on, Peter.  What have we got to lose?"  Davy said.  "What do you say?"

Peter sighed and shrugged - there was no point in arguing about it.  "Okay. but you can talk to them first."

"That's my boy!" Davy laughed, playfully punching Peter on the shoulder. "Come on".

And so Davy and Peter crossed the street and approached the two girls.  As they got closer they saw that the brunette was wearing glasses and had her hair in pigtails.  She was dressed in what looked like Arabian style clothes.  The blonde was also dressed in silks and flowing robes.  Peter wondered, could either of these be the mystical stranger which his horoscope had spoken of?

Davy spoke first, "Hello there, girls".  Both girls turned to look at Davy with blank faces.  Obviously they were not impressed by his legendary English charm. He tried again, "I'm Davy Jones and this is my good friend Mr. Peter Tork". The two girls looked at each other, both seeming reluctant to speak to the two boys.

"Hey", the brunette answered after a few moments silence.

"And what might your name be?"  Davy continued.

"It might be Sarah" the brunette answered.  "And she might be Marie," motioning toward her friend.

"Both very pretty names," Davy replied, in his most charming tone of voice.  "So, why are you dressed like this?"  he asked.

"Are you going to a party?"  Peter interrupted.

The blonde looked at Peter with a scowl, "Actually we're actresses, and we're in a play."

Peter looked down at his feet, "Oh".  Maybe this wasn't the mystical stranger after all - she was too mean, Peter thought to himself.  Nothing like the kind of girl he could love - not at all.

Suddenly, two girls came racing around the corner.  Both of them were also dressed in Arabian clothes - obviously they were actresses too.  Finding themselves face to face with Peter, Davy and the two actresses, they skidded to a stop.  The taller girl, with brown hair and glasses, stopped just in time, but the other, with blonde hair pulled messily back from her face, couldn't stop in time and ran straight into Peter, knocking them both down onto the pavement.

The newest brunette gasped, "Oh my gosh, Hannah, are you okay??"

Davy looked at the girl - she was even prettier than the girl he had his eye on before.  "Ello," he said, looking into the girl's eyes.  "My name's Davy".

"I'm Mandi" she girl replied shyly - love at first sight!!

Meanwhile on the floor..

"Oh my, I am SO sorry," Hannah apologized, pulling herself up.  "I am such a klutz.  Are you okay?"  She held out her hand to Peter, who took it gladly, not taking his eyes off of Hannah for a moment.

"Yeah," he replied dazily.  "I'm great."  He looked at Hannah, dressed in her Arabian outfit.

"Oh," Hannah laughed.  "I don't always dress like this, I must look like I'm off to a costume party or something!"

Peter smiled, a grin stretching from ear to ear.  "No," he said slowly, looking over at Davy with a sly smile, "I'd say you were an actress!"  Davy laughed as Hannah and Mandi looked at each other in confusion.  The first two girls didn't look amused and they stormed off down the street towards the theatre.

"Do you know them two?" Davy asked Mandi.

"Unfortunately."  Mandi replied, screwing up her face.  "They're in the show too.  It's Arabian Nights."

"Say, uh.." Hannah started to speak.

Peter looked into her eyes.  "What is it?"

"Uh, you guys wouldn't wanna come and see the show would you?" she asked nervously.

Peter and Davy grinned at each other.  "On one condition"  Davy said sternly.  Hannah and Mandi waited in silence for a moment, before Davy smiled at them.  "Only if you agree to have dinner with us afterwards!"

Hannah and Mandi sighed with relief, "It's a deal" Mandi said.

Later that evening, when Davy and Peter got back to the pad, they found Mike and Micky sitting at the table playing cards.  "Hey guys, what's up?"  Mike said.

"Nothing much," Peter smiled to himself.  "Met a mystical stranger".

Micky threw his cards onto the table.  "You didn't?"  he demanded in disbelief.

"Believe it or not, he actually did"  Davy answered.

"Yep,"  Peter said proudly.  "Her name is Hannah, she's a mystical Arabian,"

"Well, sort of." Davy interrupted, laughing.

"And she swept me off my feet. Well, more knocked me off my feet, but that's good enough for me!!"  Peter laughed.

Micky smiled in wonder - Peter's horoscope had been right after all. What do ya know??
